Madame Noire caught up with the cast of “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” to discuss the filming process and what drew them to the movie.

The Swedish version is better. I loved the books, and I really wanted to love the American version as well, but it lacked the character development I was looking for. Several important characters were never introduced, they didn’t delve very deeply into the causes for her behaviors (photographic memory, mathematics) and I felt that unless you read the book you would be pretty lost trying to figure out who most of the supporting cast was. I know they cant leave everything in, but you do have to explain some of the characters actions and behaviors if the audience is unfamiliar with the story.

I plan on seeing the movie, but it will be hard to beat the Swedish version.  They (all three) were fantastic!  I saw the first one with subtitles, but later discovered that you could also watch them dubbed-which was very well done.  I only hope they did as good a job with the American version.

i have watch the danish version over 1 yr ago  and it was great , So i have NO desire to see the Hollywood version , I watch tons of independent movies and i have yet to see when Hollywood RIp these movies off that they ever do it justice.

Plus Hollywood have a terrible habit of sometimes messing with the SCRIPT by  either glossing  over things or to  provide that happy ending.

Saw both and the danish version is better. This is good though. Danish movies always more realistic and griddier. American movie more commecial.

I’ll see it for Daniel Craig. I have seen the original, and wow!

I read the trilogy, saw all three Swedish fims, and just saw the American version of book one.  Awesome!

I wouldn’t be so stupid as to compare the two versions. Both casts were the best. The American version obviously had a humongous budget and the visuals were stunning. I was so thrilled to see the actors of the Swedish version in current American movies. Noomi Rapace (Lisbeth Salander) was in the new Sherlock Holmes movie and the Swedish actor who portrayed ‘Michael Blomvquist’ was in the new Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol movie. Lovely!

I’m 90 percent done with the book and have love it thus far.  I’m headed to the theather as soon as I’m done.  I’ll probably be disappointed movies never do the movies justice.

I haven’t seen the Swedish version, but went to see this version and thought it was an excellent film.  It was not a typical Hollywood movie and actually had more of a foreign indie film feel.  It was a little slow-paced in the beginning, but picked up speed before long.  Suspenseful, violent and darkly humorous at times, I found it completely engrossing to the last scene.

This movie was great. Daniel Craig and Roony Mara were excellent. Everybody says how good the Swedish version was, I thought it was basic compared to this version…..

  • L-Boogie

I love this film!  Especially the Swedish one.  Now, mind you I have not seen the new version but Noomi Rapace rocks in the original version!

There is a Danish version of “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” with subtitles. I have yet to see this one. But the Danish movie was very good. It’s either Danish or Swedish. Foreigh section of Netflix.

its swedish and their version was horrible

      • Guess

        It was good!

I have seen it also, which means I will not see the American version. Filmmakers in our country seem to thrive on making movies that render them useless….
