Lesson Learned? Erica Mena Says VH1 Fight Ruined Her Career

December 28th, 2011 - By Brande Victorian

First Kimbella was the reason Erica Mena couldn’t get any work—you know, because “booty” models like her mess things up for “real” models by doing videos and shoots for free—now Erica says VH1  has ruined her career.

She claims her fight with Kimbella, which aired on Monday’s episode, has thrown a major wrench in her modeling career. But it’s not her fault, of course, she says the network misrepresented her by painting her in a bad light and making Kimbella look like a saint. Erica says:

“My whole image in my career is now affected by this. I wanted them to pull this clip because I don’t want to show this side of me.”

Unless VH1 photoshopped her throwing a drink back at Kimbella and grabbing her hair, there’s no misrepresentation. This may not be her best side but it’s still her side; and If VH1 is the culprit behind the “Love and Hip Hop” fight then who’s to blame for this fight between her and her boyfriend when she punches and kicks him in the face? I see only one common denominator here. Well, perhaps two. She seems like the type of girl to turn angry after one too many cocktails and try to play innocent the next morning.

I don’t know why these girls keep agreeing to hang around women they already know they don’t like. If you put yourself in that situation, you’re walking into the lion’s den and should expect something to pop off sooner or later–although I’d also like Yandy to stop trying to make everyone into one big happy family. Let this be a lesson to future women wanting to take the Reality TV route. Fifteen minutes of fame isn’t worth the price you pay in the long run.

Check out the fight here and tell us who you think is in the wrong. Did VH1 misrepresent Erica or is she just not owning up to her mistakes?

come to Detroit,I got that work for you. It’s all good on the eastside baby girl.lol

  • TYRA

Erica’s provoking words is what  lead to her fight, which “ended her career”…Her actions were not classy at all!

  • Guest

Don’t blame VH1. She scratched that girl’s face all up and probably pulled out several clumps of hair. She wouldn’t let go of Kimbella’s hair, she had it in a death grip. That ponytail looked like it was missing a third of hair.

Trash at its finest. Erica is a sick girl, I did not see the video before, but doesnt this action mean she would be off the show now? I would never employ her for anything, she is to out of control and her mouth is to big for her own good. Sad, she is a pretty girl but her personality makes her ugly, her actions make her look stupid. She was wrong, and she can go back to where ever she came from, I have never seen her before this show…..

  • Cha-Cha

Is she crazy?? Never mind, yeah… she is. I just don’t get these “women”. Walk the EFF away! Go to anger management. And you guys got children… what kind of children are you raising. The next generation, is going to be full of idiots.

  • Kisses

I was hoping she would at least rip that tired ponytail outta ol’ girl’s head.

But yeah…whoever that Erica chick is looks like a bitter bird. And now she’s a bitter bird with a black eye LOL.  How is the other chick taking money out her pocket unless she’s not on her game to begin with??

How come adults make more excuses than children for they’re actions and/or behavior?  She could have removed herself from either situation but CHOSE not to.

Now I do watch the show and maybe it just never occurred to Miss Erika aka Street Brawler….LOL…that she just doesn’t have the right body type for what she’s attempting to do….

She is NOT cute at all! I always wondered what modelling she was talking about as anorexic as she looks!

I don’t watch this show, but Erica was all kinds of out of pocket and wrong from the jump. How can you sit down with someone and just repeatedly insult them until they hurl a drink at you? Smh, she deserved what she got if it in fact ruined her career, I’m a firm believer in responsibility for your own actions.

    Birds. period.

I have never watched this show, but maybe I should check it out….Walking away from an altercation is sometimes the best bet when you are know very well the scene is being recorded.

girl please no one told you to leap across that table and attack that girl. no one told you to act a fool out on the streets with your BABY DADDY that you probably knew wasn’t any good when you spread your legs thinking about those checks. you ruined your own career. . .

She been on a reality show long enough to know they clip and edit the mess out of them. Whether the producers instigated the fight, or it was a real fight, she should have known better. Now she must reap what she sows.

I don’t watch the show , but remember U had a choice not to engage in any inappropriate behavior and u knew it was on NATIONAL TV, but u choose to ..u rip what u sow. I can’t stand people who don’t own up to their wrong actions…always playing the blame game. Pathetic!
