7 Sulfate-Free Shampoos That Won’t Strip Your Hair

December 14, 2011 ‐ By Dolapo Roberts

As consumers gain more knowledge about cosmetic products, ingredients have become a determining factor as to whether we purchase a product or not. Sulfates are harsh chemicals that can strip your hair of moisture, color, and its natural oils. As a result you may experience tangles, dryness and breakage. Here are 7 sulfate-free shampoos that will keep your hair feeling clean and moisturized!

(Prices may vary depending on where you purchase these products)

That Burt’s Bees More Moisture Raspberry & Brazil Nut Shampoo is the devil!!! I tried that mess two weeks ago, and took it back. Within minutes of washing and rinsing my hair was crunchier than a bag of chips. It completely stripped every strand. Dripping wet, I had to apply a deep conditioner and let it sit overnight…

I tried Burt’s Bees baby shampoo once and also found it really harsh.  It stripped every bit of oil and moisture from my hair.  I wondered what damage it would do to a baby’s hair.

I use all of the shampoos in Shea Moisture line.  They are GOOOOD stuff!  I bought some for my daughters, one wears her natural and the other a relaxer, and they love it!  Makes your hair so soft!
