O, Snap! Entertaining and Enlightening Programs on the OWN Network

"OWN Network"

It’s nearly the 1 year anniversary of media mogul Oprah Winfrey’s OWN network. While the station has struggled in the ratings a bit since debuting in January 2011, Ms. Winfrey has remained committed to her brand of uplifting, enlightening  and educational programming. You won’t catch any low-brow cat fights or baby mama drama on OWN, but you will learn lessons to make your life more meaningful. There’s a lot to look forward to on OWN in the new year. There are the stand-out programs that are getting  a second season as well as new exciting additions to the lineup. Here are some of the shows that  you can look forward to in 2012 on the OWN Network that you might want to ditch the smutty reality TV for.

    I don’t know that is going to bring in the ratings.  I saw 2 or 3 shows that I might watch if nothing else in on.  The cooking show is the only one I might try to check out on the regular.

    Yawn! The same stale docu-series and reality shows. Oprah is missing a real golden opportunity to do some really great things with this channel. Instead of making it a tribute to her ego she should be developing shows and giving a lot of out of work black talents a chance to shine. Whites look out for their own why can’t we?

      You can’t make money helping black people. The white folks will get jealous and call you a racist and won’t buy the products you advertise to keep the shows on the air. I figured that out a long time ago. Oprah is a businesswoman.
