This should’ve happened already, right? Well VH1 finally caught on and decided to build on its Reality TV success with a new series of scripted made-for-TV music biopics, and the first show will tell the story of one the biggest female R&B groups ever, TLC.
Screenwriter Kate Lanier of “Set It Off” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It” fame, will shape the story of the influential group, and T-Boz and Chilli have already signed on as consultants and producers.
Hopefully the success of the biopic will ease TBoz’s financial woes. In a press release she stated, “I’m just overjoyed. I appreciate Jeff Olde and everyone on staff at VH1 that took interest in us, thank you. Kate Lanier is amazing. I’m honored to work with her I love her art. Well here we go on another TLC ride and I can’t wait. Like Biggie said ‘Now if ya don’t know, now ya knowwwww.”
How excited are you to see TLC’s story brought to life?
