Nicole Murphy is mourning the loss of her mother, sharing with her followers on Instagram on Monday that her parent and “best friend” Ellen Mitchell passed away.
“Today i lost the most beautiful person in the world to me my mom. I love you so much,” she said. “Thank you for all the beautiful times we had together. Now you can Rest In Peace with Dad.”
“Words can’t express how much I miss my best friend,” she added in a separate post filled with photos of her mother from over the years. “I love you mommy.”
Murphy could often be seen hanging out publicly with her mom over the years, holding hands while running errands, going out to dinner with paparazzi taking pictures. Her mother is British, and she raised the former model and Murphy’s brothers as a homemaker. Her parents separated when she was a child but would go on to reunite. Murphy’s father, Eddie T. Mitchell, passed in 2012.

This major loss comes at an especially rough time for the 51-year-old beauty, who has dealt with a lot of public criticism, particularly on social media, after she was seen sharing a kiss with director Antoine Fuqua. He is married to actress Lela Rochon.
But there has been positivity in the midst of all the drama and loss. Murphy welcomed her first grandchild, Evie, the daughter of her son Myles and his longtime girlfriend Carly. The child has certainly brought her a lot of joy.
