Why Tavis Smiley Considers Himself To Be A Successful Failure

May 4th, 2011 - By TheEditor

Tavis Smiley needs no introduction. He’s known to most Americans as the host of popular radio and television shows and the author of a slew of best-selling books. But by his own account, he has been an abysmal failure, which is why his latest book, published this month, is called “Fail Up.” The Atlanta Post caught up with Smiley in New York City to ask him what “failing up” means — and why he refuses to cut President Obama some slack.

Check back for part two of our interview with Tavis Smiley.

Tavis isn’t saying he is a failure to any degree! He totally believes he is a success. even to the degree he has raised funds through book sales (that have never been accounted for) to help build the “Black community! Yet, the money was raised into the millions! He also believes because of his State of the black union broadcasts he should have been President!
Although there is NO accounting for ALL the money made (for him) in the quiese of helping the community, millions MIA!!!!!
Tavis is no more than a Hyperbolic self promoting hate-filled entity

    ????????

Tavis Smiley is amazing and so accomplished. I have learned so much about our culture, our history and distinguished black folk in the present from watching him over the years (last week he had Dr. Muhammad from the Shomburg Center, dude is Elijah Muhammad’s great grandson. I wouldn’t have known that if I didn’t watch Tavis), why is he a failure? I don’t get it
