If you have tuned into the new season of Love and Hip Hop Hollywood hoping to see singer Brooke Valentine in the middle of some drama, you’ve likely been a bit disappointed since neither she, nor her beau Marcus Black have appeared in the first three episodes of Season 6. You’ll have to get used to it though because according to Valentine, she isn’t part of this season at all and for good reason. The 34-year-old did what looks like an Instagram Live video recently and explained that after a rough pregnancy, she couldn’t make the filming deadline, and after getting to spend quality time with newborn daughter Chí Summer, she didn’t really want to anyway.
“My induction was scheduled because I was high risk. It was scheduled too close to filming and it was just too stressful. I spent about six weeks postpartum in and out of the hospital. I had preeclampsia and postpartum hemmorhage so I wasn’t feeling too great. I knew I wasn’t going to be able to jump back on set,” she said.
“I wanted to spend time with my daughter. I can’t get these times back. All these little precious moments with her? I will never get them back and I didn’t want to spend them sitting in a van, sitting in a makeup chair, trying to figure out what I’ma do with my hair, trying to see who I’ma beef with next on the show. I didn’t feel like it,” she added. “I needed a break. My bank account looks good, I can take a break if I want to. I’m on vacation. That’s why I’m not on this season.”
Still, Valentine made clear that she will be back in the near future because contracts are nothing to play with.
“However, I’m still locked in that damn contract, and I’ll see y’all a–es soon. Okay?”
The “Girlfight” singer joined the cast in Season 4 and was quite the troublemaker in Season 5, involving herself in Teairra Mari’s sex tape drama, throwing condoms at a young lady Marcus was dating after they found out she wasn’t pregnant and cracking jokes about Lyrica Anderson’s marital issues and paternity drama. With all that being said, we agree that Brooke needed a break. Perhaps focusing on raising her baby girl will soften her up when she returns and leave her less focused on the mess. Fingers crossed…
