Maverick’s Flat: An L.A. Institution Revived
Originally opened in 1966, Maverick’s Flat was considered the Apollo Theater of the West Coast. Throughout the 60s, 70s, and 80s,the jazz supper club was the go-to venue to see performances by the likes of Earth, Wind and Fire and The Temptations. Today, the institution is under new ownership and is building on its historical legacy to offer a new avenue for Angelenos to experience a soulful music and dining experience.
TAP correspondent Isidra Person-Lynn talked to owner Curtis Fralin about reviving this Los Angeles institution.
