On Monday evening, Love and Hip Hop New York star Kimbella Vanderhee (now going by James, which is her husband’s real surname) was thrown a shower for her baby boy with Juelz Santana. Unfortunately, the 37-year-old rapper has been in a prison in Virginia since March, seeing through a 27-month prison sentence for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft. However, Kimbella was far from alone. Her LHHNY co-stars and BFFs Remy Ma and Juju put the party together for her, and a lot of family and friends came out, including Deelishis of Flavor of Love fame and Love and Hip Hop: Miami’s Shay “Buckeey” Johnson.
The one friend that people might have expected to be present who wasn’t though, was Yandy Smith-Harris. She spent most of her Monday doing criminal justice work in Manhattan, trying to encourage the district attorney’s office to reopen cases tried by Linda Fairstein, who supervised the prosecution in the Central Park Five case.
The ladies haven’t been in a good place it seems since Kimbella accused Yandy of leaving her out to dry when she had her back during a dispute that almost turned physical with the other mothers of Mendeecees Harris’ kids. They seemed to hash things out near the end of Season 9 of LHHNY, but after watching the season, Yandy was angry that Kimbella, while still in her feelings, accused her of adopting daughter Infinity for clout. They haven’t been the same since, and Kimbella said after the season ended that Yandy hasn’t been there for her since Juelz has been incarcerated and she’s been pregnant.
As for the shower, Kimbella took time out to give love to Remy and Juju for being there for her.
“Remy and Juju did their thing,” she said. “I’m so grateful. Thank you ladies so much. No really, it goes out to you guys for real. I really appreciate this.”
“You guys came through,” she added. “I didn’t have to ask, you did it on your own and I appreciate you ladies so much.”

Kimbella and Juelz announced that they were expecting again at the Season 9 reunion of LHHNY after tying the knot in January (Yandy was part of the wedding by the way). The couple already share son Juelz and a daughter named Bella. The rapper has a child from a previous relationship named LaRon. Kimbella also has a son from a previous relationship named Leandro.
