Often, as with everything else within the American social fabric, we find all things associated with "black" or "African-American" tends to capture less appreciation and value. I am excited to see how Renarda and Richard are stimulating interests in our communities artistic talents, while preserving, promoting and telling our story to the world–yet with the intention of adding financial value. I belong to the MFA here in Houston and like many art galleries throughout the U.S. black art is largely absent, marginalized and deemed insignificant and therefore unappreciated—coupled with the fact

that “black folks” tend not to visit art museums in the first place. Resulting in why curators can offer the excuse of, “We cater and secure art exhibits that reflect the interests of our supporting audience.” So now that I have presented the problem, (which we already know) I am inclined to also offer a solution: Today, Please Google search the contact info for the local MFA (museum of fine arts) within your city and call, write or email the curator and request MORE consideration for exhibits featuring black art. If this is done collectively, they will feel obliged to respond out of demand or at least publicly explain the absence of black art.
