It looks like BET’s vice president for content, Mimi Valdés, didn’t pass the company’s three month probationary period, as she has left her position overseeing BET.com after joining the company in June. The media veteran came from top editing posts at Vibe and Latina magazines.

According to media news site Journal-isms, after Valdés was hired in June, “BET.com was the most widely viewed Internet site catering to African Americans, according to ComScore, an Internet ratings service. But it lost half its unique visitors and slipped to third place among those sites in the September ratings, a ComScore spokeswoman said on Thursday. The site had also laid off six people.”

“Mimi Valdés will be leaving BET Networks and we wish her the best in her future endeavors,” spokeswoman Jeanine Liburd said. “The decision was mutually agreed upon.”
