Latest Moguldom Venture Extends Leading Online Black Media Brands While Opening Diverse Touch Points for Advertisers
Moguldom Media Group, an innovative new media company, today announced Moguldom Studios, a new initiative which will deliver unique and substantive online video and Web TV programming keyed to the African American experience.
Moguldom Studios is positioned to capitalize on the growing convergence of television and online programming, as the dramatic growth in online video draws increasing interest from both consumers and advertisers. As more people watch more forms of video content using more types of devices than ever, more than 77 percent of all U.S. Internet users will watch videos online by 2014 (eMarketer). Meanwhile, ad revenues for online video reached $627 million in the first half of 2010 alone, increasing 65 percent in the second quarter compared with the previous year (IAB).
Moguldom Studios will leverage the visibility of established Moguldom brands including Madamenoire.com, Bossip.com, Atlantapost.com, and Hiphopwired.com to engage loyal viewers in new ways while winning new fans through innovative online video. The original video content developed by Moguldom Studios will be aligned with existing Moguldom brands while bringing these publications together in a forthcoming simulcast video site. The addition of video will provide a new touch point for Moguldom advertisers, in addition to the social, mobile, and conventional online reach already delivered through the Moguldom portfolio.
The focus of Moguldom Studios will be to create high-quality original video entertainment, information, and motivation that mirrors the richness and diversity of the African American online audience, from those immersed in Hip-Hop culture to smart, savvy women to business and community leaders. Digital programming, including interviews with celebrities, politicians, entrepreneurs, and business leaders as well as content developed by a team of seasoned journalists and personalities, will offer a unique and compelling addition to today’s online multimedia mix.
“The demand for online video is booming among audiences of every description, including the discerning African American consumers who’ve made Moguldom’s online properties so successful,” said De’Juan Galloway, Director of Moguldom Studios. “I’m excited about the opportunity to meet this demand and build on the strong reputation for quality and relevance Moguldom has established over the past five years by providing the kind of unique video experiences our audience wants.”
Said Marve Frazier, Chief Creative Officer of Moguldom Media Group, “From the beginning, we’ve said that there’s no limit to how far Moguldom can go, and we’ve seen this play out in the many successful directions the business has taken us. Today, we expect Moguldom Studios to transform online video for black audiences; tomorrow, it wouldn’t surprise us to see the evolution of a fresh and new approach to African American television and movie content.”
