(Chicago Sun Times) — President Obama’s popularity may be dropping across the nation and in Illinois. But Gov. Quinn is not about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

Quinn said Thursday he’s thrilled that the President has recorded a radio commercial expected to hit the airwaves on Monday to boost his campaign against Republican State Sen. Bill Brady.

“It’s huge, obviously. President Obama is my friend. I’ve worked with him since the day I became governor. He’s a very strong force for decency in our country. . . . And he says on the ad he’s voting for me and he’s appealing to the people of Illinois to elect me as governor so we can continue our partnership,” Quinn said.
