Tyra Banks may be a supermodel, but the 5’10” beauty is also super down to earth. From the days of her talk show, Tyra has never been scared to take it all off, baring her soul — and body — in front of millions in an effort to deconstruct ridiculous beauty standards and show she’s a woman with (so called) flaws like everyone else. And at 44, none of that has changed.
Over the years, we’ve seen the mom of one ditch makeup and extensions a time or two in favor of rocking a more natural look. And right now, that’s the flow Tyra seems to be on as she posted an image on Instagram yesterday letting her followers know her wigs and weaves are on vacation until further notice.
We’re not surprised Tyra decided to give up the glam for a little bit. The America’s Got Talent host has been rocking dramatic hair and makeup as of late for the return of the show’s 13th season so it’s no wonder she needed a break.
Plus we all know wigs, weaves and extensions can go from protective to problematic real quick if we don’t give our own natural strands a chance to breathe and flourish every once and a while. Looking at Tyra’s healthy head of curls, it’s clear she knows the rules of the rotation. And while we might not ever see the model-entrepreneur totally natural on the red carpet, it’s nice to see her being real and looking rejuvenated in her down time.
