(Miami Herald) – FIU basketball coach Isiah Thomas’ controversial second act with the New York Knicks has ended before it could even begin, Thomas confirmed Wednesday evening. Thomas announced in a written statement that he called off the deal to be a Knicks consultant, a newly created job that he planned to hold at the same time he led the Golden Panthers’ program — a move widely criticized as a conflict of interest.
