I was saddened to hear that Emily B. had reconciled with her longtime boyfriend and father of her children, rapper Fabolous. Saddened but not surprised. Actually, it’s pretty par for the course for an abused or battered woman to either never leave or return to her abuser.

What was more shocking was the presence of Emily B.’s family alongside Fabolous this past weekend for Father’s Day.

Before I stumbled upon these pictures, someone commented saying they wonder how Emily B.’s father feels now that she’s taken him back and he’s all posed up with his children.

I thought I knew. I assumed that like most of us with a friend or loved one in a dangerous situation, he felt scared, hurt, frustrated, helpless and perhaps even a little angry. But there seems to be more to that story.

After sharing photos of the men in her life this past weekend, Emily B. had to make her Instagram page private after she was bombarded with comments inquiring or condemning the family about the recent domestic violence incident.

Eventually, Emily B warned followers that she would block them if they continued to leave negative comments on her page.

After that, she shared another image of her father, brother and Fab. These are the same men who Fabolous lunged at and threatened on the video that we all saw.

The two are currently in court trying to determine what to do with the current domestic violence case. And I can’t help but wonder if all of these photo opps, an Instagram photos are to help aid in getting Fabolous off for the crimes we all witnessed. And I would certainly hope Emily’s family is not being coerced into being around him, or even worse accepting money to do so.

How do you explain Fab flicking it up with Emily B.’s relatives after their violent altercation?
