Is this really still a taboo subject? Armpit hair, that is. Are we still not evolved enough to know that yes, women grow hair under there, and yes, some women like to keep it that way sometimes (or all the time)?

Facebook Watch’s Red Table Talk series with Jada Pinkett Smith, her mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones and her daughter, Willow Smith have revealed some very deep things about family and friend dynamics. But there’s one very shallow thing they also like to talk about – Willow’s armpit hair.

Adrienne aka Gammy does not like to see her 17-year-old granddaughter letting it all hang out, so when Willow gets to a point where the hair is ready for a cut, her grandmother couldn’t be happier.

“It’s time for me to cut my armpits off,” Willow said

“Oh, Hallelujah!” Adrienne exclaimed.

Don’t get it twisted. Adrienne isn’t the only one who gets on Willow about her underarm hair. Jada does, too, but Adrienne seems to be the one who has the strongest reaction to it.

“I cannot imagine letting my underarm hair grow. That is just kinda gross to me,” Adrienne said.

Willow explained the genesis of growing out her armpit hair. Basically, she didn’t have what she needed to cut the hair, so she opted to let it grow as long as it would go.

“One day I just didn’t have any razors in my shower, so I just was like, ‘I’m gonna not shave,’ and that just happened day after day after day,” she said.

Although the Whip My Hair singer is about to be hair-free under there soon, she wants to let us (and Gammy) know that it will grow back.

“Chia pets are gonna come back. It’s a cycle. Know what I’m sayin’? It happens,” she laughed.

So, what kind of woman are you? Do you shave it or do you let it grow?
