It can be hard enough for exes to come together to peacefully co-parent for the sake of their child. Now imagine just how much more complicated it can become when a new partner of either party enters the picture and has a say on what’s best for the kid. For some, it can certainly get messy and stay that way for the long-term.
But for others, with the well-being of the child or children at the forefront of everyone’s minds, things can actually work out well. An ex-wife or girlfriend and a new love can even strike up a friendship in the midst of trying to share parenting responsibilities. Take for example Adrienne Bailon and Israel Houghton’s ex-wife, Meleasa Houghton. Meleasa recently showed some love, publicly, to Adrienne for the role she’s played in the lives of the kids Meleasa shares with Israel.
“Congrats to @adriennebailon for winning the Emmy and thank you with all of my heart for being the best mother to our children @mariahrideau@lillie_houghton and @sonnyhoughton2see you soon in Cali Besos!!” she wrote.
To which Adrienne responded, “Thank youuuu! ♥ From the bottom of my heart! Love them beyond words. You look beautiful! 😘 Besos xo”
It was important to Meleasa for Adrienne to know how much their positive relationship means to her, so she reiterated her thanks.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart too for being so wonderful to our children,” she wrote. “Thank you for our gift of friendship and for the sweetness of you are….God is forever faithful 😘”
