(Washington Business Journal) — Leaders of Maryland’s hospitals and its two largest health insurers have struck a deal for increasing the amount hospitals can charge patients beginning July 1.  The two sides, which have been at odds over the reimbursement plan for several months, hashed out an agreement in the past week to raise payments to the state’s hospitals by 2.44 percent in fiscal 2011, said Robert Murray, executive director of Maryland’s Health Services Cost Review Commission, which regulates the state’s hospitals. The percentage increase will amount to about $330 million for hospitals, including about $60 million in financial incentives to reduce in-patient admissions.
