You can now call Star Jones, Mrs. Lugo.
The lawyer and former The View co-host not only celebrated her 56th birthday this past weekend, but she also said “I do” with fiancé Ricardo Lugo on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship sailing in the Bahamas. The festivities were attended by 150 people, according to PEOPLE.
Of those 150 people, star guests included Tina Knowles-Lawson, Holly Robinson Peete, Lela Rochon, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Bill Bellamy and Phaedra Parks.
In October, it was announced that Jones was engaged to be married to Lugo, whom she had been dating since 2016. He is the father of a son named Jake,
and is an assistant state’s attorney who ran to be a judge in Chicago in 2012. The Midwestern city is where the couple seems to spend the most time.
When she initially announced her engagement, Jones wanted to keep things quiet and simple to avoid any media hoopla, which she’s quite familiar with.
We’re engaged,” she said. “Not talking about it.”
“He’s wonderful,” she added. “I’m happy and that’s all anybody outside of my family needs to know.”
However, as the wedding date drew closer, Jones couldn’t hold back from sharing her excitement:
This is the second marriage for Jones, who was previously married to Al Reynolds from 2004 to 2008.
