Jelani Maraj Pushing To Get Child Rape Conviction Tossed Out

February 26, 2018  |

Last November, we reported that Jelani Maraj, Nicki Minaj’s brother, was found guilty of raping an 11-year-old girl. He was convicted on a felony charge of predatory sexual assault on a child and endangering the welfare of a child.

The sentence for his crimes were 25 years to life in prison. But apparently Maraj, despite some damning genetic evidence and testimony from the victim, is trying to avoid all of that.  According to Page Six, Maraj was scheduled for sentencing on February 20. But it was put off for another month while his lawyer petitioned to have his child rape conviction tossed out.

Maraj, 39, was not present in court during the petitioning.

Maraj’s lawyer argued that the allegations against his client were crafted by her mother as a part of a $25 million extortion scheme.

It’s time for Jelani to give it up and go ahead and serve his time. Enough now.
