In addition to her breakout role in Girls Trip, her standup special, a New York Times bestselling memoir and so much more, Tiffany Haddish is adding her voice to a new animation project from Netflix.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix has ordered a 10-episode series for an animated comedy called Tuca and Bertie. The story focuses on “the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment.

Haddish will play Tuca, “a cocky-care-free toucan, and Bertie, an anxious, day-dreaming songbird.”

The role of Bertie has yet to be cast.

The series was created by Lisa Hanawalt and will executive produce the Netflix project alongside Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack), Noel Bright (BoJackFriends), Steven A. Cohen (BoJackJack & Bobby) and Haddish.

Given Haddish’s own personal connection to animation, via Roger Rabbit, this seems like a good fit for her.
