Valentine’s Day is one week away and, if you’re like most women, sex is definitely on your mind right now. *Cue Blulight* In fact, according to Summer’s Eve’s “How Ladies Do V-Day” survey, 62% of women view getting intimate as a priority on February 14.
That figure matches the 61% of the 1,000 women surveyed who said they spend Valentine’s Day with a date or significant other. Thirty percent spend the Holiday alone while 9% celebrate with friends. Among those getting it in, however, 58% see V-day as the perfect time to try something new in the bedroom, which is especially true among moms (67%).
Quite a bit of prep goes into getting ready for the night, whether going out or staying in — FYI, 58% would rather do the latter. The top ways women plan to get ready for Valentine’s Day are:
- Shaving or waxing (63%)
- Picking the perfect scent (50%)
- Selecting special lingerie (43%)
- Using feminine hygiene products (36%)
- Buying a new outfit (35%)
And when it comes to time spent getting ready, nearly half of women (47%) who go out on Valentine’s Day estimate they’ll spend at least an hour preparing for their date. On average, women also spend about 30% more than usual getting ready for a Valentine’s Day date than they do for a regular date. We hope 100% of women will say all the prep was worth it this year.
