Must-See: Will Smith Parodies Son Jaden’s “Icon” Video To Celebrate Its 100M Spotify Streams
If you haven’t already heard, Will Smith is THE person to follow on Instagram. Ever since firing up an account back in December, The Bright star has been crowned the king of the ‘gram. And rightly so!
Will has been sharing gems of wisdom, giving us little sneak peaks of his beautiful wife Jada, and taking us on his overseas excursions that have included posts about “when dumb people get bit” and a speedboat ride where he was taking “repeated blows to his genitalia.” Yes, the forever Fresh Prince of Bel-Air is making all of us other ‘gram users look like amateurs when he’s the one who’s only been on it for less than two months. And his latest post is the best one yet.
Last night, Will congratulated his youngest son, Jaden Smith, on 100 million streams of his song “Icon” on Spotify, a pretty incredible feat for any artist. And if Will Smith is your dad, then you know that his congratulations will be on a whole ‘nother level. The 49-year-old decided to parody his son’s video of the song, and for all of our enjoyment, Will posted it on Instagram, making it both a sweet and hilarious tribute.
At the end of the video, Will says, “J-diggy! I’m proud of you baby. 100 million streams. Congratulations, man. 100 million! Congrats, I love you.”
In the comments, Jaden wrote, “Dad this is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen in my life you’re the best father anyone could ask for thank you for allowing me to express myself even when I take it to far sometimes I love you more than you will ever know because you taught me how to love. Also thank you for having the best Instagram on planet earth.”
Jaden has received not only critical acclaim for “Icon” but for his entire debut album entitled “Syre.” You can check out the 19-year-old’s orignal “Icon” video below.
