(Washington Business Journal) — The battle over burying power lines along the 12th Street NE commercial corridor in Brookland is coming to head — and the outcome could set a precedent for residents in other neighborhoods hoping to improve their area’s aesthetics.
Many residents of Brookland maintain that putting wires underground is the final step in a multiyear streetscape project led by the D.C. Department of Transportation, but the District government refuses to play along.
