Malcolm D. Lee – “Girls Trip”

Another unexpected box office hit (from the view of the mainstream anyway) was Malcom D. Lee’s “Girls Trip” which was the first comedy of 2017 to gross more than $100 million. We, however, expected no less from Lee who has consistently brought us great films from “The Best Man,” “Roll Bounce,” and “Scary Movie 5,” to “The Best Man Holiday, and “Barbershop: The Next Cut.”
