Jonathan Demme – “Shots Fired” (Hour Six: The Fire This Time)

Jonathan Demme gained notoriety for directing the haunting 1991 film “The Silence of the Lambs” and he later directed the acclaimed drama “Philadelphia.” It’s his work in television, specifically on Gina Prince-Bythewood’s “Shots Fired” that garnered his NAACP Image Award nomination. Sadly, Demme passed away in April of 2017 due to complications from esophageal cancer and heart disease.
