According to the ABC affiliate in Dallas, the man was arrested by police after Badu, 46, found him in her home in North Texas. Badu reportedly stated that the man was a “stalker” who had flown in from Detroit to be near the “Honey” singer. The man left her place and was issued a criminal trespass warning.

Everyone clearly loves Badu, obviously a little too much these days. The trespassing followed a controversial traffic stop on New Year’s Eve, where the star was pulled over by police and when she asked one why while recording the encounter, he said, “Because I wanted to say hi!”

A confused Badu said “Hi” before bursting into laughter. Her daughter, Puma, laughing next to her in the passenger seat.

While everyone preesnt got a good laugh in the moment, some on social media felt that the police officers who stopped Badu were unprofessional. Badu, in an effort to show that she wasn’t bothered by the incident, and in fact, thought it all in good fun, took a video later with the same officers in the hopes of keeping them out of trouble.

“Peace and love. These behind are me (are) Donterio and Clay,” she said. “You know I love them very much. They always patrol and help us a lot. We just having fun, New Year’s Eve. I wasn’t harassed or anything. I mean it could have been worse… Happy New Year 2018.”
