Just in time for the holidays, Gabrielle Union is out here playing Santa Claus.

The 45-year-old actress recently sent some pieces from her New York and Company collection to Demetria Obilor. The 26-year-old traffic reporter for ABC affiliate WFAA was body shamed for wearing curve-hugging dresses on-air. “YOU are the real life Mary Jane… A go-getter news anchor who dresses DOPE and doesn’t give a s*** what everyone else thinks,” Union wrote of Obilor on social media. “Keep on kicking a– and taking names queen. We love you just the way you are! And since you slay everything you wear, I’m sending you a bunch of pieces from my @nyandcompany collection and some credit for extra pieces!”

But Obilor is not the only woman being given a hard time over their body while trying to do their job on-camera. On Wednesday, Union spotlighted Laura Warren, a news anchor for NBC affiliate WRDW in Augusta, Georgia. Warren was criticized during her pregnancy for, as someone who left her a voicemail tried to say, being “disgusting” and wearing “too tight outfits” that displayed her growing stomach instead of opting for maternity clothing:

She received the voicemail while still heavily pregnant and “hormonal,” so the comments got to Warren for a time. It was something that frustrated her.

“I consider myself a confident, pretty secure, independent, woman,” Warren wrote on her personal blog. “Why was I letting this one ridiculous, negative comment ruin my whole day? I’ve gotten dozens of compliments from viewers saying nice things about my pregnancy, why was this the one that stuck?”
In the end, she said she was going to focus on turning the commenter’s negative energy into positive energy.
“I’m going to say as many nice things as I can to as many people as I can, and I’m going to do it in a dress that fits these beautiful new curves with my ‘watermelon’ stomach showing.”
As with Obilor, Warren’s graceful handling of irate, old white women was inspiring enough to catch the attention of Union, who in a note on Twitter, said that she was going to send her some “fire outfits from my New York and Company collection so you can flaunt what your mama gave ya!”

Today’s #WCW, Laura Warren, is another hardworking news anchor that I found who was subjected to body shaming… and in this case, pregnant body shaming! This new mom, who works at WRDW in Georgia, was body shamed at week 20 of her pregnancy, receiving nasty comments telling her to “buy some decent maternity clothes so you don’t walk around looking like you got a watermelon strapped under your too tight outfits.“ She was described as too “disgusting to be on TV.” Instead of letting this bring her down, she fought the good fight and decided to turn the negative energy into positive by saying nice things to as many people as possible and spreading love. Plus, she continues to wear whatever feels good to her while on TV! Keep doing you Laura! I’m going to send you some 🔥outfits from my @nyandcompany collection so you can flaunt what your mama gave ya!

Warren, who just welcomed her son into the world earlier this month, was grateful for the kind words (and free clothes):

Body positivity: 2. Body shaming: still 0.
