Congresswoman Karen Bass Obliterated Jeff Sessions Today And We Were Here For It
As you know the Trump administration is being investigated for what they did and did not know about our current President’s connection to Russia and how much influence they had in the outcome of the most recent presidential election.
As a result, Attorney General Jeff Sessions had his day in court today in front of the House judiciary committee today. Sessions was adamant that he’s never lied to Congress about what he knew or didn’t know when it came to Russia.
We know there were some shenanigans going on with that. But that’s not the focus of this article. During the hearing, Representative Karen Bass took the opportunity during her question portion to ask Sessions about the practices of the FBI, particularly their investigation into groups they’ve dubbed “Black identity extremists.”
In early October, the FBI released a report that dubbed the groups as a threat.
“The FBI assesses it is very likely Black Identity Extremist (BIE) perceptions of police brutality against African Americans spurred an increase in premeditated, retaliatory lethal violence against law enforcement and will very likely serve as justification for such violence,” reads the report, marked for official use only and obtained by Foreign Policy.
While those in law enforcement believe these groups are dangerous, others believe this classification is rooted in racism.
Thankfully, today Congresswoman Karen Bass questioned Sessions about the report. And the man who visibly and audibly shook by the line of questioning.
