Kandi Won’t Be Recording New Music With Xscape
Perhaps the reunion between Xscape was a bit premature. It seems that there are some wounds that have yet to be healed. And we saw it all unfold on a recent episode of “Watch What Happens Live.”
The ladies stopped by to discuss their new Bravo reality show, the tour and the biopic, which will also air on the network. But it seemed that as soon as Andy inquired about what broke the group up in the first place, the air between Kandi and Tamika Scott got a little thick.
Andy was attempting to ask what Kandi made of the apology from Tamika about the lies she spread about her. He got it confused though, believing that Scott had lied about Kandi sleeping with Jermaine. Which is true. What she did lie about was Kandi sleeping with Jermaine’s father.
Most of us are clear on that fact at this point. And while Scott has apologized and Kandi has supposedly forgiven her, when they discussed who exactly it was Kandi slept with and the lies Tamika told, it got really awkward, really fast.
Tamika: I didn’t make up the Jermaine story.
Kandi: Jermaine and I hooked up but that’s not why we broke up.
Tamika: I didn’t say that’s why the group broke up.
Kandi: No, that’s what you said…
Andy: I was asking about the radio interview.
Kandi: Yeah, it was some other stuff that she said in the interview.
Tamika: What were the other things that were said?
Kandi: You said that I hooked up with Jermaine’s dad. And that was absolutely not true.
Tamika: That’s what I said that was not correct.
Later in the interview, Andy asks when the group is planning on making new music. After Andy poses the question, Tiny gets visibly uncomfortable.
Kandi: Well, they are doing new music.
Andy: The three of them are? Is it under the name Xscape?
LaTocha laughs before Tiny says, “Well, we are Xscape.”
LaTocha: There are plans to do music. We have already started recording.
Andy: Why are you not recording with them?
Tamika jumps in to yell, “Tell the truth Kandi, tell the truth.”
Kandi: I’m going to do Broadway and some other things and they’re going to be working on music.
Andy: But everything’s good?
Kandi: We’re having a rehashing or whatever. Whenever certain subjects come up, of course we bump heads on certain things.
But Andy ended it on a high note speaking about how their selling out venues for their tour.
What do you make of this? Do you think it spells imminent doom for the group or will they all be able to eat from these sold out shows? Do you believe that Kandi has other commitments or does she just not want to be bothered?
