Kenya Moore Regrets Not Inviting Her Father To Her Wedding & That RHOA Co Stars Aren’t Happy For Her
As you already know, Kenya Moore is a married woman now. It’s a fact she certainly isn’t hiding, even if she’s not showcasing her husband as much as people would like. Still, that doesn’t mean she’s unwilling to share the details around the marriage and how she will merge her new husband into her life.
In a recent interview with theGrio, Kenya explained that she was very intentional about limiting the wedding guests to people she knew would be genuinely happy for her and…wouldn’t act up. Which is why she didn’t inform her “Real Housewives of Atlanta” cast members until after the fact.
And even when they learned of her nuptials like the rest of us, via social media, the response was less than what she was expecting.
“I didn’t tell anyone. The only person who was happy for me was Cynthia. She wanted it to be true so badly when she heard. I was surprised at them not saying anything at all. To me, silence speaks louder than anything else. They were not happy for me and that is a shame. Phaedra and Porsha were the main ones who were criticized and ridiculed me because I wasn’t married and you see where they are. None of them reached out to me. Not a one,“ she says. “They have been invested in a negative way so when it’s something positive for my love life, they’re not happy.”
Her co-stars weren’t the only ones who didn’t participate in Moore’s day. She also said that she made the tough decision to keep her father from the wedding. Today, Moore says she would have made a different choice.
“It was sad. I knew my dad wanted to be there and I tried to tell him. I just wanted my wedding day to be perfect and with my dad you never know what you’re going to get. I told him how in love I was with this man and he was not supportive,” she explains. “I had to make the decision and I went back and forth about, ‘do I have my dad there?’ I had to make the decision because I’m starting a new life and my family now is my husband. I went with the safer choice and I do regret it.”
Seeing that we’ve known and learned more than we wanted to about Kenya’s partners, it’s clear that she’s keeping up the mystery with her husband Marc Daly. But what we do know is that he’s a New-York based restauranteur. Chef Roble, who also had a Bravo Broadway show, introduced Moore and Daly to one another.
Moore said, “My husband is a former investment banker, entrepreneur, MBA with a great business mind and he’s been solo for a long time. I come in as something completely different being a TV personality and a business mogul myself. I’ve been doing things my way for a long time so it’s an interesting dynamic.”
Now that she’s married, Kenya Moore said she may have to reflect on the way she behaves on the show because now she’s not only reflecting herself and her husband but also her extended family. So she might have to tone it down a bit. Still, she can only be herself.
