Despite Down Economy, College Graduates Hopeful

(Atlanta Voice) — With Georgia’s unemployment rate looming at 10.6 percent, one of the highest in the country, this spring’s crop of graduates from the Atlanta University Center schools needed an extra dose of encouragement.

Mayor Kasim Reed did his part for the students at Clark Atlanta University; U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice spoke to the graduating class at Spelman College and Secretary of Defense Robert M. Gates addressed the men of Morehouse College.
