Free Foreclosure-Prevention Aid Offered at McCormick Place

(Chicago Sun Times) — Free foreclosure-prevention help will be available for 24 hours a day Thursday through Monday at McCormick Place. Participants include lenders, representatives from HUD, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae and the Federal Housing Administration.

The event is being presented by the nonprofit Neighborhood Assistance Corp. of America, which has assisted some homeowners in reducing their interest rate to as low as 2 percent, and in some cases has been able to garner principal reductions.
